So........I most definitely get the mother of the year award on this one. =( NOTTTTTTT
Our precious daughter lost her first tooth yesterday. She was so scared and did lots of crying (hence the drunken looking pic below) but was super excited to put it under her pillow last night. So this a.m. when she got up she said "mom, I haven't looked under my pillow yet, do you think the tooth fairy came?".....I almost cried!!! I had forgotten to play tooth fairy last night!!!!!
I immediately got up and headed down stairs to get $$. Then I heard "mom where are you", I told her I would be right back. Well, when I got upstairs 5 seconds later she was standing by her bed holding the little bag with her tooth still in it. She looked at me disappointed and puzzled. I almost cried again. I started to whisper very stoftly, "honey, I'm so so sorry. Mommy and daddy are the toothfairy and mommy forgot. I'm so sorry." She just looked up and smiled at me and said "really?". "Yes honey and I'm just so sorry." I then proceded to tell her it's like a little game mommies and daddies play and it's just for fun and that her Mimi and Baba used to do it for me. She asked if all parents did it for their kids and I said yes but don't tell your friends. (Sorry in advance if she ruins it for your kids) =(
Oh the horror of it all. I cannot believe I forgot!
I asked her if she wanted to try again and put the tooth back under her pillow. She said yes. So she got back in our bed (where the kids always are for at least 30 min every morning) and I went in her room and put $5 under her pillow. I would have given $20 if that's all I had b/c I felt sooooooooooo bad. I was planning on $1.
I came back and told her she could go look again. She seemed very happy with her money and not too horrified by what she had just learned. But, my heart is still broken that I couldn't give her this one little thing to imagine upon. Last night she was asking me how big the tooth fairy was and how she was going to get it out from under her pillow................................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh so horrible. =(
Here is my toothless girl who looks drunk. LOL and she lost the bottom tooth. Most people ask her if she has already lost a top tooth. She's just has that unique gap =)
Love you my darling Makenzie! So proud of you for being so brave!!!!

Hot Rods and Harley's
This weekend we went to College Station for Hot Rods and Harley's with my sister in law and her fam. Can I just say that my son stood in this same position the entire time.
Mama was not happy and YES I tried and tried to get him to move elswhere. He ended up in the same place every time.

David was sure it was b/c of the water and my sister in law was sure it was b/c of the bike. I'm sure they are both wrong!! LOL

News to share.... =)
No no no, not to our family. LOL but that was fun for me to think that you might be thinking that. LOL Thank you LORD we are finished =)
The news is......Momma got a new job!!!!
It's been a month in the making and God has certainly brought me far in trusting Him with our lives and where He wants us to be. But this job came to me and I was so excited. I will talk more about it later but wanted to share. =)

My little streaking boy
Colton decided it was naked time when we got home yesterday. Just up and stripped in the living room. Had to share. =) He's doing a spin so it's blurry but that makes posting a naked picture better.

New Book...
I'm so totally bored at work that I'm going to start a new book Made To Crave by Lysa TerKeurst. Have I ever mentioned how much I "H word" to read. It is probably one of my least favorite things to do. So here we go........
I'll let you know how it turns out. Let me know if you have read it. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Happy Mother's Day
We had a very productive weekend! Love those weekends! It started out with bagels at Brooklyn Bagel where almost the entire family gathered. (Becky + 5, as always, you guys were missed)
Here is Mak and her Mimi.
Let me just take a minute to say how fabulous our mother is. She works full time but is still a full time mom to me and my 2 sisters........oh...........and the 8 grand kids we gave her in 6 years. She's always there for a shopping trip, babysitting detail, or a shoulder to cry on. She lost her mom (whom we also called Mimi) when she was my age. I CANNOT IMAGINE NOT HAVING MY MOTHER. Mom, Mimi would be sooo proud of the amazing woman, wife, mom and Mimi you are today. You are a blessing in our lives and we're so lucky to have you!!
Ok, enough mushy =)
After bagels we headed to the mall for some haircuts and fierce shopping. Then back to Mimi and Baba's house. My dad (Baba) took the two girls for a special ice cream trip, just the 3 of them and they loved it!!
We also celebrated my sister's birthday and mother's day. Lots of celebrating.
Around 3 p.m. David and I packed up our little family and headed home to get down and dirty with the garage and Mak's room. Can I just tell you that this really was one of the best Mother's Day weekends!! We got so much done and it was just nice to know that Mak's room is reorganized with all the clothes that fit her, winter clothes are in their own tub, toys in a bag to give away, old clothes in a bag to give away and baby stuff too. We have accumulated so much over the years and I thought we were doing pretty good keeping up with it but I guess every once in a while you just have to have a weekend where you get rid of stuff, a lot of stuff. lol
So with all that "stuff" I woke up Sunday morning feeling horrible. We went to church then CHUY'S yummmm where Colton visited the potty no less than 6 times in the hour we were there. And NO, he didn't go once then fell asleep in the car. I got a really good nap too!! =)
We wrapped up the night with a trip to Mimi's to get things we forgot, a trip to Sam's Club then back home and David go busy in the garage again. It looks awesome babe!!
While putting my little ones to bed last night, Colton and I were praying, he interjected as we were thanking Jesus for things and he said "thank you Jesus for Sam's.......................for potty...................in Jesus name AMEN!" he's so precious when he prays.
Thank you to our precious Lord for allowing me to be a mommy!!!

4:45 AM!!!!! COME ON!!!
My precious adorable son woke at 4:45 a.m. this morning. I let him crawl into bed with us b/c I knew for the most part he would be quiet. HOWEVER, his sister decided to join us 3 minutes later. They do not share our king size bed well. So, once she climbed in bed Colton immediately starts to throw a fit.
I then quickly decided that b/c it wasn't even 5 a.m. that everyone needed to go back to their rooms. SO...... Mak runs down the hall b/c she's mad and goes in her room to cry. Colton is carried away by David kicking and screaming. David and I both go back to bed.
Whaling and kicking and hitting and screaming persist, then all of the sudden the screaming has a message in it....."MOMMY.....scream.......I PEED ON MYSELF......scream.......I PEED ON MYSELF" so I go in his room to of course find him standing in a carpet soaked puddle of pee. . . . enter Makenzie.
So I'm cleaning up the pee and Mak decided she wants to help Colton get dressed so he immediately starts screaming again......it's still not 5 a.m. yet.
So in the following 15 minutes, my most fab husband is able to calm Colton down from the absolute rage that recommenced when I told him he still couldn't get up. I think it was quiet from 5:15 to 5:30 when I told Mak she could come out of her room. I then got Colton b/c he was being quiet and I wanted him to associate getting to come out while he was quiet and not screaming or asking.
So..............I'm tired..........pretty sure hubby is too. We didn't fall asleep until after 11 pm so that of course doesn't help. Oh well............happy friday. lol

Slap in the face
Ever just get a good biblical slap to the face? Ever knock you down on your booty. Well, in my current situation at work, Romans 12 just slapped me and I shared with another co-worker and told her misery loves company. lol She thanked me for the slap as well. lol
Romans 12 - pretty much the whole chapter but starting at verse 14 is where I got my slap
I love verse 19. It's done, we don't have to worry about it, it's for Him to take care of. AND, for all I know, someone is praying this towards me as well......that's not a fun thought.

Romans 12: 9-21
Love in Action
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c] Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Finally Asleep
Well, after the kids took a bath, read a book, both tucked in at least 5 times, Colton decided to stand at his door and call for me for a good 20 minutes....the first time. Finally he had to potty so I ran upstairs and we took care of business. Then, it was tuck them both back in bed again, more hugs and kisses, then he stood at his door calling me again.
I told Mak that I was just going to let him cry it out and her response was "Why would you do that to him! I don't understand why you wouldn't just go to him?".....my response to her was "Get in your room and go to sleep." I was not in nice mommy mode by this point. So, Colton cries, screams, kicks and hits at his door, calls for me contiuously and I turned up the TV and ate my dinner. So I go to check on him before I go to bed and this is what I find.

Just passed out on the floor with his blanket wrapped all the way around his head. Crazy kid, but he did fall asleep. =)

Powell School Carnival

Well this past weekend was Mak's school carnival. I was in charge of our class basket. The theme was books. Not hard right? So I work with another wonderful lady, we put it all together and..... the only person who bid on it was the other lady who helped me put it together!!! And she just did it to get it going. LOL How embarassing that our basket was apparently so bad that no one even looked at it. So sad. LOL
Anyway, here is a pic of Colton on a horse at the carnival. Somehow I totally missed taking one of my little girl.
Trying this blog thing
Well, here's to trying new things. I have never blogged in my life and am bad enough on facebook. We'll have to see how this turns out.
